A look back… and a look ahead!

As this year comes to a close, Alticast is not only taking time to reflect on our past achievements but to look forward to the new year. The flux created in the PayTV industry has challenged us but it is a challenge we have accepted! We have created and implemented new products that operators and customers were demanding, embraced next-gen technologies, and we won a few awards along the way.

Some of this year’s highlights:

Alticast helped numerous Pay TV operators and partners explore new frontiers with our products. We took KT Skylife in South Korea “over the top” when we implemented our newly released, “TV Everywhere” Ambient TV™ cloud platform as the foundation for their OTT service, Telebee. KT in South Korea implemented our new Apex™ UX Virtualization platform on over 5 million of their already deployed IPTV set top boxes. We integrated our interactive E2E architecture into STBs developed by Ali Corporation. We partnered with Intel by incorporating their Intel^® SGX technology into our AltiProtect™ Multi-DRM product to eliminate exposure to untrusted areas, enabling secure delivery of 4K UHD online video content from servers to client devices, and preventing copying of content from GPU memory.

Our products went on the road with a presence at CES, NAB, IBC and BCA tradeshows. We showcased our new Ambient TV Cloud platform integrated with Apex, our UI Virtualization product; our next-gen technology platforms that included Voice Assistance UX and a gaming UX; and showed the virtues of our award-winning, anti-piracy and remote device management system product called Argus™.

The award community took notice of us too! Argus took home a BTR Diamond Award at SCTE in October. The judges praised Argus for empowering Pay-TV operators and OTT providers to holistically and seamlessly protect all devices against hacking and data breaches that can jeopardize revenue and compromise both the privacy and safety of customers. And, we are proud to say that Ambient TV was a finalist at IBC’s CSI Awards in the Best Content on Demand category.

2018 will bring new challenges but we are poised to accept. Delving into new territories such as blockchain and AI, building upon our existing products with upgrades and improvements and helping our operators meet and exceed the demands of their customers are what we are looking forward to the most!

Alticast Privacy Statement

GENERAL

Alticast may collect your personal data when you visit an Alticast office or website, order or purchase Alticast products or services or when you contact Alticast. This Privacy Statement applies to the collection and handling of the personal data of (potential) visitors to Alticast and users of the Alticast website ("Customers").

Alticast attaches great importance to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. We will handle your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

We advise you to visit this website regularly to determine whether you possess the most recent version of the Privacy Statement, and that you do so whenever sending your personal data to Alticast. THE FIVE PRIVACY PRINCIPLES OF ALTICAST

The Alticast Privacy Principles reflect how we handle data protection and privacy.

1. Alticast has many years of experience with developing end-to-end media technology solutions that enable service providers to quickly and reliably deliver innovative TV experiences to their customers. We comply with strict statutory regulations. This means that we are legally required to process and store personal data. We are open and clear about this in our privacy statement.
2. Alticast uses strict rules for processing personal data, and we regularly evaluate the functioning of the rules. We process personal data that is relevant and necessary to give customers a wonderful customer experience and to be a good employer for our staff.
3. Alticast has taken appropriate organisational and technical security measures for dealing with the personal data of customers and employees. Only people with the correct level of authorisation are able to access personal data. If we engage external parties, we only do so once we have made solid agreements about the safe processing of personal data. We take measures to prevent data breaches, but should these occur, we inform the parties concerned and the regulatory authority when necessary.
4. Alticast develops new systems according to the principles of "privacy by design" and "privacy by default". These mean that privacy aspects are included in the design process, and we always start from the most privacy-friendly level.
5. Alticast wants to offer transparent, clear information about which personal data we process, why this is necessary, and how we handle the processing of personal data. We will assist any customers, employees or other persons concerned who require further details or information on this.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?

- To offer you Alticast products and services;

- To enable us to provide you with the Alticast website;
- To be able to send you our general e-mail newsletter, provided you have opted in for this, and to keep you up to date on Alticast's general promotions and offers;
- Provided you have given us permission, to inform you of specific products and services provided by Alticast on the basis of preferences known to Alticast;

Alticast collects your personal data only as much as necessary to offer and deliver products and services, or to the extent to which Alticast is bound by a legal requirement. Alticast may process the following items of your personal data:

Our basic principle is that we do not share your personal data with third parties. When you unsubscribe to commercial communications from us, we will remove you from the mailing list as quickly as possible. This normally occurs within 1-3 working days. Because of the processing time and production schedules, you may receive the communications that were already in production.
