Our Year in Review

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is almost gone and 2019 is knocking at the door. It’s a been a busy year and Alticast can’t help but reflect on the year’s accomplishments, events and highlights.

The Alticast team traveled the globe to bring our products and latest technologies to the industry masses at numerous tradeshows. NAB Las Vegas and NAB NY, Cable Congress, BCA, Angacom, and IBC were just some of the major shows where our products were exhibited. All of these shows, and a few more, are on our schedule for 2019 and we'll be kicking off the New Year with an exhibit at CES!

Alticast served as a proud sponsor of this year’s Adaptive Spirit in Vail, CO. We were proud to host (4) special guests, as well an adaptive athlete, to this exceptional telecommunications charity event and look forward to doing so again in 2019.

Our industry expertise and knowledge were sought this year. Jae Park, President of the Americas, sat on a panel during Light Reading’s Cable Next-Gen Technologies and Strategies event that addressed “How to Fix the Broken Pay TV Model”. The headquarters team contributed to BCA with a speaking presentation about blockchain technology and the head of our business unit, Wongeun Jeon, was interviewed about our latest Dynamic UI product.

AltiPlatform continues to flex its muscles as we helped a new customer, Belgium cable operator, VOO, upgrade their set top boxes to “Next-Gen” with this product. AltiPlatform was also chosen by Thailand operator, TrueVisions, and delivered the country's first 4K UHD service. Existing partner, Kbro, is using AltiPlatform to elevate their services to Android TV in 2019. We continue to be instrumental in various operator system upgrades and strive to be their partner, rather than just a vendor, and that will still be a major focus of ours in 2019.

Although AltiPlatform was a customer favorite this year, our Apex (UI) turned heads when it garnered a Diamond Award for the second straight year from Broadband Technology Report during the SCTE – Cable Tec Expo in September. Our long-time Korean partner, KT, when they awarded us with a Software Technology Award for our “voiceable” technology that went into powering one of the world’s first full-voice controlled user interfaces on their Giga Genie product.

The Pay TV industry is constantly changing and Alticast is proud to have a product line, and a team, that continues to transition easily to answer our operator’s needs to help them stay competitive. This change also brings new opportunities for our company and looking ahead to 2019 has us very excited! Stay tuned for what’s to come!

Alticast Privacy Statement

GENERAL

Alticast may collect your personal data when you visit an Alticast office or website, order or purchase Alticast products or services or when you contact Alticast. This Privacy Statement applies to the collection and handling of the personal data of (potential) visitors to Alticast and users of the Alticast website ("Customers").

Alticast attaches great importance to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. We will handle your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

Alticast may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. You may always view the latest version of the Privacy Statement at www.alticast.com. We advise you to visit this website regularly to determine whether you possess the most recent version of the Privacy Statement, and that you do so whenever sending your personal data to Alticast. THE FIVE PRIVACY PRINCIPLES OF ALTICAST

The Alticast Privacy Principles reflect how we handle data protection and privacy.

1. Alticast has many years of experience with developing end-to-end media technology solutions that enable service providers to quickly and reliably deliver innovative TV experiences to their customers. We comply with strict statutory regulations. This means that we are legally required to process and store personal data. We are open and clear about this in our privacy statement.
2. Alticast uses strict rules for processing personal data, and we regularly evaluate the functioning of the rules. We process personal data that is relevant and necessary to give customers a wonderful customer experience and to be a good employer for our staff.
3. Alticast has taken appropriate organisational and technical security measures for dealing with the personal data of customers and employees. Only people with the correct level of authorisation are able to access personal data. If we engage external parties, we only do so once we have made solid agreements about the safe processing of personal data. We take measures to prevent data breaches, but should these occur, we inform the parties concerned and the regulatory authority when necessary.
4. Alticast develops new systems according to the principles of "privacy by design" and "privacy by default". These mean that privacy aspects are included in the design process, and we always start from the most privacy-friendly level.
5. Alticast wants to offer transparent, clear information about which personal data we process, why this is necessary, and how we handle the processing of personal data. We will assist any customers, employees or other persons concerned who require further details or information on this.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?

When you unsubscribe to commercial communications from us, we will remove you from the mailing list as quickly as possible. This normally occurs within 1-3 working days. Because of the processing time and production schedules, you may receive the communications that were already in production.
