We’re Going for Gold in the CSI Awards

Ambient TV is being cited as one of the Best Content on Demand Solutions this year in the competition, which annually attracts the world’s top pay-TV and online video technology innovators. We’re hopeful we will be among the winners who will be announced in the exclusive awards ceremony at IBC on the opening day of the Amsterdam show.

When it comes to awards, it’s been a good 12 months. The CSI Innovation Awards’ panel of expert judges conferred finalist status on AltiProtect UHD in the Best Content Protection Technology last summer, and earlier this year our AltiCloud-UI solution received a Multimedia Technology Excellence Award, one of the highest honors given by the Republic of Korea government’s Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

While we’ve announced the full scope of Ambient TV features and benefits to our customers – and of course, the judges who select the CSI Award finalists and winners – it’s been strictly on a need-to-know basis. Suffice to say that Ambient TV enables pay-TV operators to take on OTT competitors head-to-head with compelling TV Everywhere services that can meet operators’ rigorous time-to-market demands and cost constraints.

There’s a lot more to tell about the innovative approaches we’ve taken to solving some big pay-TV problems, including a unique approach to digital rights management, but all of that will have to wait for the launch news later this year. In the meantime, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for good luck at the CSI Innovation Awards ceremony in September and we’ll encourage you to visit us at IBC Stand 1F.36 to see what Ambient TV has done to earn this honor.

Alticast Privacy Statement

GENERAL

Alticast may collect your personal data when you visit an Alticast office or website, order or purchase Alticast products or services or when you contact Alticast. This Privacy Statement applies to the collection and handling of the personal data of (potential) visitors to Alticast and users of the Alticast website ("Customers").

Alticast attaches great importance to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. We will handle your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

Alticast may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. You may always view the latest version of the Privacy Statement at www.alticast.com. We advise you to visit this website regularly to determine whether you possess the most recent version of the Privacy Statement, and that you do so whenever sending your personal data to Alticast. This Privacy Statement was last changed on August 26 2018.

THE FIVE PRIVACY PRINCIPLES OF ALTICAST

The Alticast Privacy Principles reflect how we handle data protection and privacy.

1. Alticast has many years of experience with developing end-to-end media technology solutions that enable service providers to quickly and reliably deliver innovative TV experiences to their customers. We comply with strict statutory regulations. This means that we are legally required to process and store personal data. We are open and clear about this in our privacy statement.
2. Alticast uses strict rules for processing personal data, and we regularly evaluate the functioning of the rules. We process personal data that is relevant and necessary to give customers a wonderful customer experience and to be a good employer for our staff.
3. Alticast has taken appropriate organisational and technical security measures for dealing with the personal data of customers and employees. Only people with the correct level of authorisation are able to access personal data. If we engage external parties, we only do so once we have made solid agreements about the safe processing of personal data. We take measures to prevent data breaches, but should these occur, we inform the parties concerned and the regulatory authority when necessary.
4. Alticast develops new systems according to the principles of "privacy by design" and "privacy by default". These mean that privacy aspects are included in the design process, and we always start from the most privacy-friendly level.
5. Alticast wants to offer transparent, clear information about which personal data we process, why this is necessary, and how we handle the processing of personal data. We will assist any customers, employees or other persons concerned who require further details or information on this.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?

- To offer you Alticast products and services;
- To promote an effective safety policy in Alticast offices (e.g. by using access control)
- To enable us to provide you with the Alticast website;
- To be able to send you our general e-mail newsletter, provided you have opted in for this, and to keep you up to date on Alticast's general promotions and offers;
- Provided you have given us permission, to inform you of specific products and services provided by Alticast on the basis of preferences known to Alticast;
- To comply with the legal obligations that Alticast is subjected to, such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

Alticast collects your personal data only as much as necessary to offer and deliver products and services, or to the extent to which Alticast is bound by a legal requirement. Alticast may process the following items of your personal data:

- Job title

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

You can make your personal data known to us in a number of ways, for example, when you:

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH?

Our basic principle is that we do not share your personal data with third parties. In some cases, however, we need to share your data with third parties, for example, in the context of performing an agreement or for sending marketing messages. In accordance with our legal obligations, we enter into data processing agreements with third parties that process personal data on our behalf. COMMERCIAL COMMUNICATION FROM ALTICAST

Alticast is happy to discuss with you about its products and services, for example by email, post, text message, telephone or via other communication channels. You always have the option to opt out of receiving further commercial communications from us by using one of the following options:
- by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the Alticast emails;
- by specifying via Alticast's website contact form that you no longer wish to receive commercial communication from Alticast;
- by indicating this in writing to Customer Services using the postal address below.
When you unsubscribe to commercial communications from us, we will remove you from the mailing list as quickly as possible. This normally occurs within 1-3 working days. Because of the processing time and production schedules, you may receive the communications that were already in production.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Alticast has taken suitable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. We protect your personal data using a range of security measures, including secure storage.
