TV Emergency Alert Available for Visually Impaired: 2016 will be the first full year in which Americans will be furnished with Emergency Alert Messages both visually and aurally. In 1990, the American’s with Disability Act was passed to “remove barriers and empower people” (http://www.ada.gov), to include access to emergency information system. The Emergency Alert System conveys emergency communications via the TV to indicate encroaching weather, earthquake or other emergency event. This latest update delivers information not only with an onscreen visual scrawl, but also with an “audio scrawl” that leverages a secondary audio channel.

Alticast Privacy Statement

GENERAL

Alticast may collect your personal data when you visit an Alticast office or website, order or purchase Alticast products or services or when you contact Alticast. This Privacy Statement applies to the collection and handling of the personal data of (potential) visitors to Alticast and users of the Alticast website ("Customers").

THE FIVE PRIVACY PRINCIPLES OF ALTICAST

The Alticast Privacy Principles reflect how we handle data protection and privacy.

1. Alticast has many years of experience with developing end-to-end media technology solutions that enable service providers to quickly and reliably deliver innovative TV experiences to their customers. We comply with strict statutory regulations. This means that we are legally required to process and store personal data. We are open and clear about this in our privacy statement.
2. Alticast uses strict rules for processing personal data, and we regularly evaluate the functioning of the rules. We process personal data that is relevant and necessary to give customers a wonderful customer experience and to be a good employer for our staff.
3. Alticast has taken appropriate organisational and technical security measures for dealing with the personal data of customers and employees. Only people with the correct level of authorisation are able to access personal data. If we engage external parties, we only do so once we have made solid agreements about the safe processing of personal data. We take measures to prevent data breaches, but should these occur, we inform the parties concerned and the regulatory authority when necessary.
4. Alticast develops new systems according to the principles of "privacy by design" and "privacy by default". These mean that privacy aspects are included in the design process, and we always start from the most privacy-friendly level.
5. Alticast wants to offer transparent, clear information about which personal data we process, why this is necessary, and how we handle the processing of personal data. We will assist any customers, employees or other persons concerned who require further details or information on this.
