Alticast has deployed millions of STBs for customers around the world.
These deployments combine a variety of solutions and hardware platforms.
Below is a sampling of systems deployed for Alticast customers.
-
- The Videotron design team worked closely with the Alticast CREATIVE team to implement their award-winning user interface. Along with standard guide navigation and VOD services, Alticast has continued new initiatives including the first 4K Canadian service. As the Master Systems Integrator, Alticast has taken this project from end-to-end and continues to integrate companion products and other features. Their ongoing work as a partner with Videotron is done through an embedded engineering team.
-
- Alticast worked closely with Time Warner Cable throughout their history both implementing their extensive tru2way deployments, as well as partnering to develop many other initiatives. Time Warner Cable was acquired by Charter Communications in 2016.
-
- Cablevision used the Alticast tru2way middleware for over 2 million STBs. This solution is integrated with a third-party UI and Alticast managed the solution through deployment and continued service.
-
- Alticast developed a headend system for UnityMedia using the MHP variation of AltiPlatform. We also developed an Alticast custom designed UI in HTML5 using AltiBrowser running in the same MHP environment for HbbTV.
-
- KT is the number one telecommunications service provider in Korea with more than 16 million subscribers serving mobile, IPTV, and broadband services.
KT partnered with Alticast to develop a cutting-edge IPTV service in which AltiPlex (SDP), AltiPlatform (Device Software), AltiProtect (Security) and AltiView (UI/UX) were implemented across an array of consumer devices - STBs, PCs, game consoles, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs - with Linux, HTML5, Android, and Windows system environments. With Alticast’s end-to-end solution, KT is providing compelling, personalized user experiences for their subscribers.
-
- KT has a hybrid deployment of Satellite and IPTV serving a total of over 5 million customers. Their STBs use AltiPlatform GEM middleware and AltiProtect D&E and CAS security software. In addition they have recently launched the Alticast Cloud DVR solution for VOD and Personal video storage, playback and timeshifting.

- Alticast was selected to provide the technology for the ambitious rollout of Ultra-High-Definition (Ultra HD) video services at CJ Hellovision, South Korea’s largest cable television operator, with more than 4.3 million subscribers.
The key to the secure delivery of CJ Hellovision’s live and on-demand Ultra HD programming is the use of Alticast’s AltiProtect conditional access system (CAS) using the Alticast Download and Exchange framework (D&E). CJ Hellovision began rolling out new set-top boxes (STBs) and smart TVs using AltiProtect in November of 2014. Currently, the company remotely swapped the legacy CAS on previously-deployed HD STBs to AltiProtect, a process that was completed in April 2017. AltiPlatform device software that enables advanced functionality was also implemented to support new services and allows subscribers to easily navigate its service options. Partnering with Alticast has helped CJ HelloVision to continually add new and exciting services as it rapidly expands nationwide.

- Alticast has provided a complete end-to-end solution for TBroad in Korea. This deployment takes full advantage of the full spectrum of Alticast´s technology. The middleware is AltiPlatform (GEM, which is a java solution similar to tru2way). The security uses AltiProtect and the user interface is a branded version of AltiView 1.0. This has been further extended with complete support of the back office through AltiPlex. In addition, TBroad has continued to add features such as a companion device UI.
